Turkish Airlines pet fee in detail

USD 75 (0-8 kg PETC) is the published fee for interline flights to/from Türkiye and transit flights. Turkish Airlines states fees 'may vary according to the international destination' and points to its Pet Fee Calculator; domestic Turkey fees were not published on the pages read. Stopover itineraries pay the sum of both segments.

Where you can't fly with a pet

Birds in cabin limited to small songbirds (budgies/parakeets and canaries). No pets on flights terminating in the UK, including connecting flights. Pets not allowed on flights to Bilbao. Dogs from high-rabies-risk countries to the US limited to Atlanta, New York, Washington, Miami or Los Angeles (with exceptions). Commercial dog imports to Canada from Türkiye prohibited; dogs must belong to the passenger. Flights from Moldova to the US: one carrier per passenger.

How many pets you can bring

Only one carrier per passenger in the cabin (max two carriers per passenger aboard in total, cabin + hold). Up to two animals of the same species and living habits may share one carrier if combined weight stays within 8 kg.

How to book a pet on Turkish Airlines

Add the pet with your booking reference (PNR) on the website or app; online purchase possible up to six hours before the flight. Not available online for unaccompanied minors.

Hold (AVIH): cage max 75 x 75 x 125 cm, hard-sided with lateral locking, pet + cage max 50 kg; collar required; water dispenser required for layovers 4+ hours or flights 8+ hours. Published AVIH fee for interline/transit flights to/from Türkiye USD 150. Parrots, pigeons and other birds go in the hold or via Turkish Cargo. Snub-nosed breeds

Brachycephalic cats and dogs (e.g. Pug, Shih Tzu, Bulldogs, Boxer, Pekingese, Boston Terrier, French Bulldog) may fly in the cabin under the usual 8 kg and carrier limits; the pages read do not state a hold ban for them.

Service and emotional support animals

Trained service dogs (guide, hearing, medical alert, psychiatric) travel free in the cabin with training, vaccination and ID documents and confirmation at least 48 hours before the flight; psychiatric service dogs are accepted only on Istanbul-US flights, and SVAN bookings cannot be made online.
